Remembrance Day at West Berkshire Crematorium
West Berkshire Crematorium is marking Remembrance Day by recording a special service available online for anyone who wants to watch it.
The service is being recorded on Tuesday 8 November in the crematorium’s chapel and it will be made available for viewing online between Friday 11 November and Sunday 13 November.
The crematorium office will also be selling poppies in support of the Royal British Legion in the run up to Remembrance Day.
West Berkshire Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, the UK’s largest owner and operator of crematoria and cemeteries, with 37 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide pleasant, tranquil places for people to visit and reflect.
Site Manager Stephanie Langford said: “Remembrance Day is a time when so many people pause to think about all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
“We wanted to do something to mark Remembrance Day as part of our continuing efforts to play a positive role in local community life and to engage with the people who live in the area surrounding our beautiful site.
“Having a remembrance service that is available online is our way of being inclusive as possible, so that if people are unable, for whatever reason, to visit our site, they can still enjoy the Remembrance Service and have their own quiet moments of reflection.”
